Dog Days

I think everyone left for cooler climes except me. I'm sitting here in the steamy heat, watching the mold and mushrooms grow. Even e-mail has dwindled to a trickle.

But for those consumed with curiosity about a writer's inane life--- My editor just went to cover conference for the July 2010 return to traditional Regency historical book. I have no idea what the decision was on the cover, but the title is now A WICKED WYCKERLY instead of AN HONEST SCOUNDREL, and the series has morphed from The Younger Sons Novels to Rebellious Sons. If that gives you any idea how marketing is heading next year, there ya go, my compliments.

And should you ever wonder how people get invited to write for anthologies--it pays to know people. Editors write to authors who they think will sell their anthology, and those authors pass the editors on to other authors who might be interested. And the snowball rolls from there. I just spent the last few days creating a short story for A MONSTER BOOK OF IRISH ROMANCE (or so it's currently titled. Who knows what it will be tomorrow?) Anyway, it was a nice break from revisions, even if I had to study up on my Irish history.

Personally, I think this couple deserves each other. "G"
